Skateboarding...

Of course having a bulldog makes it mandatory to teach them skateboarding. Eric has been teaching Rocco and I have been surprised at how well it has been going. This video is from a week ago and he has already gotten a lot better. The other night he full on jumped on the board when it was already moving and started pumping with his legs! It was so cute! I'll post another video when he has gotten it down.

DIM SUM - What is that???

This is the question I asked myself when I first moved to the city. I would see little restaurants all over with "DIM SUM" as their name. I didn't understand if it was just a really popular name to use for asian restaurants or if it was a type of food. Well, apparently it is a type of food and can be compared to dumplings or potstickers. It is just steamed noodles stuffed with different things. Some friends took us to their favorite Dim Sum restaurant and ordered for us. We had no idea what to order and with things like "frog legs" on the menu I wouldn't trust myself to do it anyways. Thanks Julian for helping us with our first Dim Sum experience! After dinner, they took us to try Boba Bubble Tea. Since we don't drink tea, we just go a peach slushi with Boba in it. What is Boba? It is little gummy balls made from tapioca. They don't really taste like much; sort of like unflavored gummy bears. I don't know if I would say it was good, just interesting!

THE LIST

With only a little over a year left of living in S.F., I made a list a couple of weeks ago of all the things I want to do and all the places I want to go before leaving this beautiful city. We have already done a ton of the "touristy" things in S.F. but I want to make sure I don't miss a thing! Since Eric and I both had President's Day off, we decided to check a few things off the list. We first went over to the Marin Headlands and checked out Point Bonita. We have already been to the lighthouse at Pt. Reyes, but we thought we better go to the one we can see from where we live!














You have to walk through this little cave (well, it is a man-made hole, but whatever!) to get to the lighthouse. Eric decided to show off his cute little bum!














There was some amazing lookout spot of the Golden Gate Bridge over by Point Bonita. We got a few shots of it!













We then came back over to the city and got some photos overlooking the Palace of Fine Arts.














I love days where Eric and I get to go out and explore the city; it is so fun to spend time together!

Beach Days with Rocco

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Rocco hates going on walks. We want him to love them, so we can get all his energy out. But instead, he puts on the brakes and we end up having to literally drag him on his walks.So...with the sunny weather these past few weeks I have started taking Rocco to the Beach. We usually drive to wherever we are going. I think it must be more of an adventure for him, because as soon as we get out of the car he is on the go! We have gone to Marshall Beach, Baker Beach and Crissy Field. He loves the sand, all the people he meets, and of course, all the dogs he gets to play with.













On Valentine's Day I took him down to Baker Beach in hopes of getting some energy out quickly, before we went out to eat. He started playing with some Great Danes and decided to follow them into the stream/pond that runs into the ocean. It was all fun and games, until a wave came in and pushed him deeper into the pond. Everything I have read, says bulldogs don't swim, they SINK! So, I was about to panic, but then he just started swimming. After awhile I could see the panic in his eyes. He managed to get to a log, where I had to go get him! I wish I got a picture of this! It was scary, but quite entertaining at the same time! I thought this would make him scared of the water but he has since tried to follow dogs into the ocean and I have had to stop him! Here is a little video of Rocco at the Beach. He loves to dig in the sand!

Valentine's Day Breakfast

I woke up early so I could make Eric breakfast on V-Day. I had good intentions of finishing it with plenty of time for him to still get to school. But, I was rushing, as always, to get it done. In the process, I sort of burnt the pankcakes. But I thought the heart shapes made up for it. I made berry syrup too...and it was delicious!

Super Bowl Sunday

We spent Super Bowl Sunday at Brady and Jocelyn's house. I am not a huge football fan, but I love being lazy and stuffing my face full of yummy food! For just the four of us we had plenty of junk food to go around!

I Love Google...

Who needs a MAC computer when you can download Picasa from google. It does everything MAC computers can do to your photos. Thanks Brady and Jocelyn for letting me in on this little secret. For you PC users, you can download it for free too here. One of my other FAVORITE discoveries is Google reader. You can enter all your favorite blog sites. Then, instead of going to 20 different blog sites each day, you just go to Google reader and it shows you who has updates on their blogs. It makes me feel a lot less like a blog stalker! Rocco Update

My sister wanted me to post new photos of Rocco so she can see how big he is getting. Rocco is now four and a half months old and weighs in over 30 pounds. We had to buy him a new collar this past week, because he grew out of his first one. He is now potty trained; granted he still has "mistakes" here and there. He is losing his baby teeth and getting his adult teeth in(Eric is having fun pulling his loose teeth). We have decided we should have named him Chewbaca and callled him Chewey for short, because he chews on EVERYTHING!!! He has a new best friend, Charlie (He is a neighbor dog who is a Boston Terrier). He is now having solid poops!(This is a big deal in our book, because we had to try so many things to accomplish this). He sleeps through the night and then plays in the kitchen during the day so Kitrina can sleep! We love having him around; he can be a pain at times, but he keeps us entertained!!!

Eric's Half Marathon

On Sunday, Eric, along with Brady, ran the Kaiser 1/2 Marathon in the Golden Gate Park. Jocelyn and I went out to show our support. Too bad the weather was not cooperating. Just when we thought it was sunny it would start to rain again! Eric made his goal of running it in under an hour and fourty five minutes. He is an all star in my book! I can't even run one mile! Over the Hump

Over the Hump was last weekend. For all those Non-UOP dental students reading this, Over the Hump is a celebration at UOP when dental students are half way through dental school. Although, this actually happened in the middle of December, the actual event wasn't until this past Saturday night. It seems pretty crazy that we are already half way done; it brings a flurry of mixed emotions: happy to be almost done putting Eric through school, but sad to think of moving and leaving all the wonderful friends we have made and this beautiful city!!! We started out the night at our place for a little pre-party! We had some appetizers and a little bubbly...Martinelli's, of course! It was fun to get all dressed up; it was like high school homecoming all over again!
