We spent 10 heavenly days in Hawaii, 6 in Kauai and 5 in Maui. We took our kids, call us crazy; it wasn't much of a relaxing vacation, but it was still loads of fun. Eric's parents and youngest sister, Hannah, joined us to celebrate Eric's mom's 50th birthday.
First up was Kauai...the airplane ride was exhausting, so we were ready to relax and soak up the sun. At the airport...
Once settled into our condo we headed straight to the beach (Logan kept asking to go Hawaii - he thought we weren't there unless we were actually at the beach!)Stella fell asleep on the walk to the beach...she was still a bit jet lagged!
We spent some time at the pool throughout our stay...
While in Kauai, we also went on a train ride around a plantation, where Logan got to feed some goats...
We went to a Luau...
We tried some paddle boarding (FYI...this is much harder than doing it in a lake!)...
We went on a beautiful hike to some waterfalls...
We saw a blow hole...
One day we went on a long drive around the island, making a lot of pit stops a long the way. We saw Opaekaa Falls...
We stopped at several beaches; Anini Beach for snorkeling and saw this beauty(we actually saw a sea turtle all 3 times we snorkeled in Hawaii)...
We also went to Hanalei Bay Beach; there were sand bars all over; Logan was in heaven because he could run all over in the water...

We ended the drive at the end of the road, where the Napali Coast starts; we made it just in time to see the sunset...
We went on a sunset sail catamaran ride where we saw dolphins and whales...
We went zip lining and to a swimming hole...

We finished off Kauai with a nice dinner right by the beach...
Next up was Maui...we went on a day catamaran ride where we ate a lot and did a little snorkeling (prettiest coral I think I have seen)...
We also did the road to Hana; it was a very long day (8am-11pm) but worth every bit of driving. There were so many gorgeous views, beaches, waterfalls, swimming holes and foliage. I really didn't think Maui was very pretty until we did this drive...
We had such a great time in Hawaii - I am not sure how soon we will be back due to the cost, but Eric and I said maybe we will take the kids back someday when they are older, require a little less maintenance and don't need naps! Or maybe we will just go by ourselves next time!
