More importantly, the ultrasound showed everything to be normal. No cleft lip, myelomenigocele, heart defects, hydrocephalus, gastroschesis, etc. All the lovely things I see on a day to day basis at work seem to have miraculously not graced our soon to be son. We are so truly grateful for being able to get pregnant in the first place, for it being such an easy pregnancy so far and for our baby to be healthy thus far. I see so many crazy things at work I sometimes forget that healthy kids do exist! Now I just have to make it to at least 28 weeks, and I will be feeling even better about things!

It's a...
BOY!!! Yes, most of you guessed it - we are having a little boy. He measured right at 18 weeks, so we are still shooting for our little guy to come April 3rd! We are so excited, especially Eric who was determined to have a son first!

Sample Sale
One of my "anonymous" friends works at corporate for a children's clothing company that will have to remain unnamed as well. Every six months they sale their sample clothes for $5 a pound. I only had an hour to rummage through piles of clothes but I managed to find 12 pounds of cute stuff. The only catch is that there is a little elbow grease involved. The clothes are stamped with the word "sample" and it took me about three days of soaking the clothes and applying various concoctions to get all the stamps out. Lucky for me there was only a few items where the stamps did not come out and they were in inconspicuous places. Here's a picture of all my great finds!
New Camera
Well, we finally did it! We splurged and bought a really nice camera. Eric has wanted to get one FOREVER and I mentioned to him I thought I finally wanted to get one before the baby came. That was all it took - Eric immediately started looking into getting one. He found one on sale at Costco that had to be bought before October 12th - convenient! We tested the new black beauty on Rocco - he wasn't that thrilled about it and was more interested in licking the lens!
And my favorite picture; it captures Rocco exactly how he is everytime I try to scrapbook!

Apple Hill
This past weekend we went to Sacramento to visit my family. Of course with it being fall we had to make a trip to Apple Hill. We took Rocco this year and he was so EXCITED! There was people EVERYWHERE and the whole place smelled of baked goods and barbecue. The little boy was on a mission - to say Hi to everyone and scrounge as much food as possible from the ground! He also really loved the pumpkins - we couldn't get him to sit still for a picture. All he wanted to do was sniff them!
The BEST thing about Apple Hill - definitely the DOUGHNUTS. Hmmm... so good! We also ended up with some Roma apples, pears and pie crust dough to make some yummy apple pies in the future. I love the sights and smells of Apple Hill and I can't wait to one day take my kids there so they can enjoy the pony and train rides, pumpkin patches, and delicious food!
A Few Random Photos...
I love looking at other people's blogs, but I really love that I can get pictures off my friends' blogs that I otherwise would probably never finagle my way into getting! So yes, these are stolen photos, but they can help me let you in on what's been going on in our lives lately.
A few weeks back Eric participated in his school's yearly dodge ball tournament. I went to watch and was laughing when I saw Eric's friend, Brady in his "revealing" outfit. Little did I know that my own husband had a similar outfit hidden under his clothes. Needless to say, I was a little shocked and embarrassed when he took off his "outerwear"! His team didn't do so well, but they sure were entertaining to watch!
A couple of weekends ago, Eric also played in his school's softball tournament. It was over in Marin, and since it was at the park we decided to bring Rocco along. Too bad it was over 90 degrees and the poor pup was dying of heat. But, he had all the little girls playing with him and he was in seventh heaven. I love this picture of him with our friend's little boy. Although Rocco can be so hyper at times, he always is so good and gentle with babies!
Last night I went with a bunch of my friends to see the "The Women." It had quite a few funny parts and was overall pretty good. It was just a lot about older women's dealings. The weird thing was there wasn't one single male in the movie until the very end. Afterwards, we had a baby shower for my friend Rebecca. I love hanging out with these girls - it is always good times!
